Rose petals

This project came from advanced sculpture and although you cannot see it too clearly I am very happy with it. The whole concept was to try to make something site specific, so I wanted to do something with growth pertaining to students. I chose the idea of rose petals down a walkway to explore that idea. As you walk down the path the color gets to its pure form and the petals get bigger and spread out. There are some petals on the ground suggesting that growth will continue after school. This project is outside of the science building of my school, to get the experience u gotta walk through it :)

Hahaha abstract, pshhh

So to sum up last semester, I didn't do as well as I hoped, but I'm gonna put up some stuff that I kinda finished anyway. Just because something's not a masterpiece doesn't mean you can't be proud of it. And an FYI, I learned a lot last semester, including to not haves stick up my ass when it comes to painting

The end of the semster is cominggg

So I painted a little bit on tuesday but wednesday, ugh i painted from 1 till 11 at night. I got a lot of stuff done though. Hopefully I will be done with my junior comp stuff, majority of it this weekend. Well, it's a nice goal to shoot for. I'm in the process of finishing my self portrait, I really want this one done by tuesday, no exceptions. Mary and I have a fake competition, to see who can finish their paintings first. Just to motivate us to paint because in total, we have 6 paintings to work on by the end of this semster. Eks!

Artist's that I really like.

So I have been taking a modern art course this past semester and I thought I was going to hate it. But!!! It turns out I really like it, and I have rediscovered some artists and descovered new ones as well. I still like Whistler and Sargent of course, but there was so much Modern art I was missing out on. I like Gustav Klimt but he is more of a decorative artists so when I saw Egon Schiele I was so impressed. Schiele is like Klimt but loser and has more of a raw feeling to it. I really really really like him.
I also like Alphonse Mucha, who was a print maker. I like him a lot because my Dad likes him and he has a very sensual feel to his work. I feel like it is hard to do that through print making, but he does is successfully and I really like his stuff.
Also in other news, I repainted my head so I'll be putting pictures of that soon, as well as my other paintings I have been working on. One more thing, I have decided that I want to be a B.F.A. instead of a B.A. so I'm staying at school for an extra year. I have been thinking about this for a while and I think I'm pretty set on doing it.
